City of Crossville field trip

Crossville Christian School completed a unit on community helpers. The final lesson was taught by the Mayor, the police department, and the fire department. Both K4 and Kindergarten classes went on the field trip. I think it was a great opportunity for our children to start a posttive relationship with these local heroes.

Jake, Uncle's best friend

It has been a tough week. Uncle Clay's dog  has passed away. Anthony did all the tests and work up that he could do and the results came back cancer. Jake was an amazing dog. Uncle Clay has had him since 2002 in Florida. We are so thankful for Jake, and his ability to show our kids how to "sit. stay. give." We will miss him at the farm.
Jayne Elizabeth loved having Jake at Daddy's work and bringing him to our house while he was sick.

Joseph's very expensive penny

Anthony and I were alarmed to hear Joseph's loud scream from his bed upstairs. It was the scream when a mom knows there is something wrong. Joseph was able to tell us that he was choking on a penny. He screamed, and despite all of our attempts it was lodged. He was laying in bed and playing with a penny in his mouth when he accidently swallowed it. After going to the vet clinic and seeing the penny stuck on his esophagus repair site we immediately took him to the local ER.  He was able to talk and breathe fine, even with the penny stuck. Praises. There is was determined it was surely stuck, and no surgical doctor would touch him because of his past medical history. We were sent to Vanderbilt Childrens the next morning. Joseph was the BEST little boy, laughing and smiling. Granna was his only request. Needless to say she was there too. Arriving to Vanderbilt brought back so many emotions, we sat in the same surgical waiting room that 5 years ago determined Josephs future. BUT once AGAIN, our God was faithful. The news from the operating room was amazing, Joseph did NOT have a stricture that might have caused the penny to lodge. It took less than 5 minutes in surgery to go down his throat and bring up the penny. The thoughts were that it was the area of scar lacking motility, and just a coincidence that it landed perfectly in place to stick!! But looking back we know it was God's loving kindness, a trial that reassured that our baby boy has been healed, and that there is no need to ever doubt our miracle. The penny is out, and our testimony stands strong. We serve a mighty God.

Ohio, the Vaughn Family

The Vaughn side of Anthony's family were gracious enough to invite the entire family to Jacob's high school graduation party in Perrysburg, Ohio. Glen and Chandra opened their gorgeous home up to all of us! It was a great day with family that we do not see often enough.
Jayne Elizabeth, Joseph, and Johnathan enjoyed the hotel pool!
Another stop on the trip, our kids love this place!
Anthony was among the very few adults who managed the water with ALL the kids!
 Etta!!

 Sweet girl cousins!

 Cousins are so much fun!

Ohio.

We took a few days off and headed to Ohio to visit with Anthony's family. The kids are always excited to go to Ohio. I think they are starting to understand the trip, and even ask about the "buckeye" and now tell us the states we will travel through.
Joseph was packed and ready to travel!
We stopped several times to let the kids "exercise."
A favorite every time we go see Grandad is the Air Force museum. I will always be amazed and in awe of Grandad and his knowledge and wisdom of flight and the the armed forces. He is beyond words. I am blessed beyond measure that our children have the opportunity to hear Grandad discuss these exhibits, it truly is fascinating. I pray that each year they learn more and more from him.

Grandad is the only Navy man to earn the Air Force Ambassador award. Its an honor to see his name on the wall! The boys can now find it too!

One proud little girl, one very respected man.

Aunt Tiffany

Tiffany is our Mommy's best friend. We hear them talking on the phone, all the time. Shhh. Dont tell our Daddy. Aunt Tiffany's husband Uncle Dave arranged a trip to Tennessee for Aunt Tiffany to visit Mommy!!!! Mommy was so excited that she picked her up from the airport and forgot to come home that night, LOL!! Actually, Mommy and Aunt Tiffany stayed at a nice hotel and went to the spa!! THIS is what makes our Mommy the most happy!! The next night they came back home! We loved it! We cant wait to visit with Sarah and Lauren soon!

Moments like these

Or moments that I havent yet blogged!! I am so behind on posting pictures from Spring and Summer! But I thought a few of these are moments that may be forgotten or lost in a large event, but are worthy for me to remember.
Our cat Smokey. If given the opportunity he races inside and will quickly find who is asleep and snuggle in beside them. Johnathan enjoys it the most, and will say "its so cute, he sleeps beside me. I reach over and pet him at night. But then in the morning Smokey says its time to get up."  It is so sweet.
My spunky little girl, she loves pink and horses too. Thanks Ms Connie for the smocked pink pony outfit. It is perfect for Jayne Elizabeth.
Joseph, our intellectual for sure! Joseph always asks "why?" Joseph is very bright and wants to know the reason and the details involved in every process. It has been said he is the engineer in our bunch.
This is the plate the kids made me, and brought to me in bed after my surgery. It was very thoughtful, but I was concerned that veggies is all that they thought Mommy needed!! LOL!
Papa helping Jayne Elizabeth write her letters, help us all. Lol.
Chompy is the toy alligator that goes with us often. He is a favorite of the J crew!
Joseph and his eye wear crack us up!! Here he is helping Daddy.
...and his goggles. Always makes us smile.
Now, doesnt he look just like his Daddy getting ready to go run??!! So funny!
Yes, this is my little girl and her sweet face. Jayne Elizabeth loves to act, dance, and pose. She enjoys putting on nightly shows for us all!

Mommy's new bath tub is where the party is happening!! On Friday nights the kids are allowed to bathe and play in my tub.....
Nap time is getting tougher, please tell me we are not ever going to stop naps! ha!
Brothers, best friends. Joseph in his goggles!! See, I told you he can make you laugh!
Joseph enjoying the new computer desk, newly refinished from Granna and Papa!
