Cinderella has passed away

The pony at the farm was VERY old, and recently became very sick. Cinderella, was one of Jayne Elizabeth's favorite friends at the farm. We were very concerned Jayne Elizabeth would be heart broken at the news of her death. All three kids have prayed consistently for the pony, and their teachers have said Cinderella even made the prayer lists at school. So when she passed away, Papa wanted to wait until he prepared a "grave" for Cinderella, so  that our kids would better handle the situation. Papa did a great job. I took the kids to the  farm after school, and let  Papa and Granna handle the news. Papa took Jayne Elizabeth to the grave side first, and calmly explained all that happened. Granna brought the boys later, and all three kids handled it very well. It is very sad, but their first pony, and Jayne Elizabeth's birthday party pony will always be a wonderful memory.

After Jayne Elizabeth got up from Papa's lap, she picked grass to put on Cinderella's grave.
 Papa helped with the grass.......

 the boys helped too.

Soccer, a tournament!

Best Friends Veterinary Hospital began its second soccer season with a tournament! The kids played five shortened games in two days! Our team did outstanding! If scores were official, then we won the tournament. The most important thing is that despite the heat and long day, the kids had a great time!! The boys wanted to play more after the last game, amazing the energy that these kids have! It was really fun, and the fellowship with the kids and parents made the weekend.
Jayne Elizabeth's class mate and friend Tucker plays on the 4 year old "pink" team. Jayne Elizabeth is still only three, so she wore her brothers jersey from last year , sweet!
Coach Anthony, I even scored a date with this man after the tournament, kid free!!
 Boys!

"Go, Brothers!!!" Jayne Elizabeth cheered the day away.....

Aunt Justina and baby Sam came too, he is a great cousin!
Between games , a much needed rest!

Johnathan, Brody, Briggs, Joseph, and Jayne Elizabeth are great players!! Brody is amazing!
 That's our girl!
What a crew, the last game and still smiling!
Mr. Eric, a definite help with entertainment, lol.
Cousin Sam and Joseph. I think Sam had a good day too!
The tournament medals! Joseph even took his to church.
We have a great team, and wonderful coaches.

Character

Crossville Christian School has a school wide focus this year on "character." Each week there is focus on different aspects of character, with a Biblical perspective. At the end of the year this will culminate to students with high regard of character, manners, and etiquette. Wow, this makes this Mommy happy! Each Friday Johnathan and Joseph's teacher gives the character award, with a brief student description. I was very pleased when I went to pick up two very proud little boys on Friday. Below are the pictures of each of them with the "character award."  Ms. Tracey reported that their growth, maturity and responsibility earned the award.  Good work, Johnathan and Joseph.
Also this week they studied the human body, they worked hard on this project.

 Happy and proud boys.

A peek into a Thursday afternoon

Thursday afternoons Daddy is off work! He picks us up from school with Mommy, and we enjoy the afternoon together! Each Thursday is the local Farmer's Market, and it's a good time to go to the library before the produce is set-up!
Signing for the library cards
The kids love the computer at the library, it makes me think we should set ours up for kids!
Best looking man at the library, seeing him as a father makes him more beautiful each day.

A book we checked out, and the three new library cards!
At the Farmer's Market!!! The kids love the fresh baked, and whole grain goodies!
Our kids love the veggies, a favorite today was their "spring mix" greens!

When did this little girl that we brought in a stroller, become a little girl that likes to shop?

Bock, bock, bock!!!!!

Chicken farmers, is that a career? Johnathan, Joseph, and Jayne Elizabeth helped Papa catch the chickens at the farm that we incubated here at our house, and then turned them into the coop with the big chickens! Yep, our chicks have left the nest! I wish I knew which of those chickens I stayed up through the night watching hatch, and which ones we helped break their shells to come out!!! These chickens may look a little funny to you. Aunt Kathy mailed us eggs from her specialty chickens to hatch, so we have some pretty wild feathers around the farm! Our kids love these chickens!!

Aunt Justina wasn't going to participate, but Papa insisted if the kids hold the chickens, so does she!

Introducing the new cat on the farm!!! It's part of having a veterinarian in the family, this kitty "needed" Papa and Granna. The J crew gave the cat specific instructions on the drive down to the farm on catching mice!! Jayne Elizabeth adores this cat!
Pear picking, apple picking, and garden gathering, it's the farm life!
