yep- this is our Da-DEEE! That is what I hear the majority of the day, especially from Joseph! Daddy is the household favorite, despite the fact MOMMY is home with us all day!! ha! It is so cute to hear them chant his name! This weekend Anthony and I are headed to Nashville for a veterinary conference. It is the "girls" and Daddy! Johnathan and Joseph are staying at the farm with my parents for a few nights. I will come back early and keep all the kids, while Anthony stays in Nashville to finish the conference....wish us luck!
Can Jayne Elizabeth breath sleeping like this...hmmmm Daddy!
OK, call us crazy! My friend Dana and I loaded up the kids and headed out of town to a play gym! The kids: a two year old, twin 21 month olds, a 6 month old, and two month old! wow! FIVE kids TWO and under! We were giving the husbands some quiet time at home! We had a great day! The play gym was great! Then we headed to consign our baby clothes!! Dana did the unloading and consigning and I had a picnic and movie in the back of the mini-van with all the kids! This is a memory we will keep forever!! Thanks Dana! Good job Brody, Johnathan, Joseph, Briggs, and Jayne Elizabeth!
Snow was on the ground and Jayne Elizabeth was the sweetest snow bunny ever! She was so cute in church, that we had to come home and take her picture! She has began to suck her fist, while attempting to find her thumb! She also has a precious smile, that will warm any heart on a cold day!
Oh, for all you moms of little girls that I have called looking for the answer to leggings/tights of the newborn girls....the answer is a brand called "bonbon cupcakes." Here is the store website where we bought ours http://www.readysetgrowonline.com This solves the ankles bunching up, and wrinkled tights!! They are so cute, and come in every style and color!
...you are my sweet boys! So the boys had so much fun today! While Mommy was organizing tubs of baby clothes to consign, the boys were creating a mess! After I realized our house was quiet, I began to look for the little guys. A laugh gave away their location. Upon arrival of Mommy on the scene Joseph said "uh-oh." However I could only smile, and go get my camera! The powdered sugar was everywhere, and they were having so much fun. The kitchen smells like we are baking cookies, and the powdered sugar cloud still is lingering through the house! ha!
We went down to my parents farm one morning this week for a break away from home. Uncle Clay put the twins on Eli, the horse! However I left my camera at my parents house, and didn't have it down at the barn...sorry! I did take pictures when we arrived. The farm is gorgeous, and I am so proud of my Dad, Grandpa Holmes. My Dad has worked his entire life to have a "family farm." Times have not always been good for the American farmer. He works hard and long hours, enduring all climates, and has a passion for the land and cows. My Mom and brother are there to support him, and I am so thankful that our babies have the blessing of being around the farm life. God is good, and I am thankful HE created such beautiful landscape for families to enjoy. Thank you Grandpa Holmes for blessing our family!
Our neighbor Becky is getting a new puppy!! She is adorable! The top names are Sophie and Abby....but if you have any other suggestions we are taking names!!! "New Puppy" should arrive in the neighborhood in two weeks!
P.S. Name suggestions should be easy for toddlers to scream! ha!
Today is Valentine's Day and our Daddy's Birthday!! He is the best Daddy ( and animal doctor ) around! Daddy is in need of some rest and relaxation, so Mommy is taking the boys to the farm, and Daddy is spending the day with Jayne Elizabeth at home! Enjoy your day Daddy! Have fun relaxing with your little girl! We love you, thank you for working so hard so that Mommy can stay home with us!
The boys are enjoying Valentine's Day....they had sugar!! Johnathan was in love with the cookies, and Joseph liked to play with the beater. Special treats for special little boys!
Mommy loaded all three of us up and headed to town!! We had some shopping to do for Daddy! It was eventful, and there were some tears shed ( but not from Mommy!! ). Jayne Elizabeth needed to eat so we stopped by Daddy's office and the boys enjoyed a picnic snack while Jayne Elizabeth enjoyed her meal! Whew-- it was a busy day! We needed the pacifiers by the time we got home, but we did it!! Note the boys shirts, I love them!
The boys had their Mother's Day Out Valentine's Day Party...and we wanted to be sure the kids looked festive! The boys brought goodies and cards to their friends, and brought home crafts that they made. I think the party went well, until Joseph bit a little boy's finger! Ugh..what do I do? To be honest, the little stinker has bit his brother and his Daddy! These boys stress a Mommy out! Are little brothers more "agressive" to each other? The boys play rough, and always get into what the other is doing. Is it a boy thing, a developmental phase, maybe a twin thing? Post a comment! The boys do adore each other, and are sleeping much better since we put them back in the same room! They are so cute but where is the love? ha!
An Update on Jayne Elizabeth!! Jayne Elizabeth is doing great! She goes to bed about 10:30 each night at then wakes up to eat once, and up in the morning with her brothers about 6:30. This is great!! She breastfeeds well, and is a very happy little girl. She can entertain herself, and prefers to stretch out on the floor. This girl is not the swaddling type! No holding her down! She is learning to control her arms, so she is swinging them everywhere! She brings such joy to our lives, and her Daddy and I are so thankful for a little girl. She is precious, and a true angel!
Did I tell you that I love having a little girl??!! I do!! I can't get enough of the bows!
So this week has been eventful! There was a death in the family so Grandpa Holmes went back to Florida. Joseph has been sick and had a doctor's appointment this morning for his runny nose and cough. He is fine. However Grandma Holmes has stayed in Tennessee and has been here to help! So today when the tornado watch was in place, and the severe weather started I remained calm. But- when we were all in the surrounded glass window play room, and a large tree fell onto the patio furniture about 15 feet from the back door-- I began to not remain calm! We lost power, and Grandma Holmes immediately began to help me wrangle kids into the bathroom! The weather passed quickly, and we are all just fine! But we will get a weather radio tomorrow! Meanwhile the boys will continue to find the down tree fascinating, and I will here uh-oh a thousand times!
The weather outside is gorgeous!! Anthony is off this weekend so we have enjoyed every minute! We met Joe, Brody and Briggs at the state park to play. The kids had a great time! The boys burned off some much needed energy from being limited to inside due to snow last week. It was a great day at the park, and my heart was warmed to see two great Dads play with their kids.
The play gym was a hit with the boys! I think between the three boys they ran, hopped, walked, and fell down every inch of the equipment!
What a great Daddy! Joe brought the boys to the park! However Dana had to work the weekend. Briggs enjoyed his snack outside!
And don't forget about the babies! Briggs and Jayne Elizabeth enjoyed their time together too! It looks like this is a match made in heaven! Big brothers playing, while the babies were sleeping!
