Fall Concert

KIMM, or kids in music ministry performed at our church in October. This was Jayne Elizabeth's debut performance and she did great! No stage fright for her! I think it is amazing how much the kids learn during KIMM, and during the choir at their school. The KIMM teachers do an amazing job teaching hand bells, and introducing how to read music. Our kids enjoy practice, and love to sing!!! It makes me smile so big to see the kids sing. Johnathan remains a little shy on stage, while Joseph uses a big voice and states his words proudly! Jayne Elizabeth enjoys performing, at any time and any place!
Sweet....

Mark and Anthony, are picture taking proud Dads!

Fall fun

It has become an annual fall activity to go to Murfreesboro and run the Middle Tennessee Half Marathon. It is special because MTSU is in Murfreesboro and this is Granna and Papa's alumni. We go spend the weekend, run the race, go pick out pumpkins, and have fun! Papa and Granna go down memory lane as they follow the race course, and the kids think that is neat too!
Great course, and I ran my personal record for the half marathon, 1 hr 42 minutes. It was a special day because my family was there to cheer me on! My parents, and my cousin Stephen came with his family too!
We go to Uncle Clay's fraternity brothers family farm to pick out pumpkins.

Papa took us to the MTSU new dairy science facility. It is very nice!!! Papa is still very active on the MTSU advisory and alumni committees. The calf barn was a first for the boys.

The Old Fort Park along the Murfreesboro Greenway is gorgeous!! Beautiful fall weather, trails, leaves falling. Natural beauty!

Our kids loved the outdoor play area. Very nice park.

City of Crossville field trip

Crossville Christian School completed a unit on community helpers. The final lesson was taught by the Mayor, the police department, and the fire department. Both K4 and Kindergarten classes went on the field trip. I think it was a great opportunity for our children to start a posttive relationship with these local heroes.

Jake, Uncle's best friend

It has been a tough week. Uncle Clay's dog  has passed away. Anthony did all the tests and work up that he could do and the results came back cancer. Jake was an amazing dog. Uncle Clay has had him since 2002 in Florida. We are so thankful for Jake, and his ability to show our kids how to "sit. stay. give." We will miss him at the farm.
Jayne Elizabeth loved having Jake at Daddy's work and bringing him to our house while he was sick.

Joseph's very expensive penny

Anthony and I were alarmed to hear Joseph's loud scream from his bed upstairs. It was the scream when a mom knows there is something wrong. Joseph was able to tell us that he was choking on a penny. He screamed, and despite all of our attempts it was lodged. He was laying in bed and playing with a penny in his mouth when he accidently swallowed it. After going to the vet clinic and seeing the penny stuck on his esophagus repair site we immediately took him to the local ER.  He was able to talk and breathe fine, even with the penny stuck. Praises. There is was determined it was surely stuck, and no surgical doctor would touch him because of his past medical history. We were sent to Vanderbilt Childrens the next morning. Joseph was the BEST little boy, laughing and smiling. Granna was his only request. Needless to say she was there too. Arriving to Vanderbilt brought back so many emotions, we sat in the same surgical waiting room that 5 years ago determined Josephs future. BUT once AGAIN, our God was faithful. The news from the operating room was amazing, Joseph did NOT have a stricture that might have caused the penny to lodge. It took less than 5 minutes in surgery to go down his throat and bring up the penny. The thoughts were that it was the area of scar lacking motility, and just a coincidence that it landed perfectly in place to stick!! But looking back we know it was God's loving kindness, a trial that reassured that our baby boy has been healed, and that there is no need to ever doubt our miracle. The penny is out, and our testimony stands strong. We serve a mighty God.

Ohio, the Vaughn Family

The Vaughn side of Anthony's family were gracious enough to invite the entire family to Jacob's high school graduation party in Perrysburg, Ohio. Glen and Chandra opened their gorgeous home up to all of us! It was a great day with family that we do not see often enough.
Jayne Elizabeth, Joseph, and Johnathan enjoyed the hotel pool!
Another stop on the trip, our kids love this place!
Anthony was among the very few adults who managed the water with ALL the kids!
 Etta!!

 Sweet girl cousins!

 Cousins are so much fun!
