Oh, Santa

We loaded up the kids for a day trip and headed to east Knoxville to see Santa and his workshop at Bass Pro Shop, Outdoor world. Johnathan and Joseph enjoyed the motorized bumper trucks the most with Daddy and Papa. Jayne Elizabeth pointed out each deer ( or moose, reindeer, basically any horned animal ) and said "de-ah." Yep, this pink, bow wearing girl loves her "de-ah." She is a Papa's girl, and her love for the deer makes the relationship even better to Papa. It was a fabulous outing for the kids, but then we tried Santa. Johnathan was reluctant, but did divulge to Santa that he would like a basketball. Jayne Elizabeth participated with a frown on her face. But, Joseph wanted nothing to do with Santa. Joseph would not let go of Daddy, and made it clear that he would not be sitting on Santa's lap! So Daddy and Joseph had their picture made with Santa too. Joseph's main concern was the elf stuck in the window of Santa's workshop!

Christmas Parade

We took the kids to the Christmas parade with Aunt Justina and Fritz this weekend! Brrrr. It was cold. The parade was wonderful, but I couldnt feel my toes or fingers because of the freezing weather...we almost made it to the end of the parade. However when Johnathan starting crying and asking to go home because of the cold, we decided waiting to see Santa wouldnt be very fun. I think these kids have their Mommy's Florida blood, and definitely not their Daddy's Indiana blood!

Baby it's cold outside

When the boys came into our room this morning to wake us up, they promptly looked out the windows to see all white!!! Snow covered the ground! Johnathan said "wow" and Joseph said "pretty." They were super excited about the (s)no...it sounded like they were telling me "no" all day, which is typical some days! But they did say snow a thousand times today! I did what any good mother would do when it snows, I loaded up the kids and went shopping! But, we did come home and play in the "no." It was very pretty! It is looking a lot like Christmas!

A movie

Last week our preschool mom friends had our monthly outing to the historic Palace theatre for the showing of Charlie Brown's Christmas. This was the boys first "movie" experience at a theatre! Johnathan LOVED the popcorn and Joseph liked playing in the movie seats. I think they watched some of the movie! Jayne Elizabeth slept during her first movie date! We may wait until they are little bit older to try the movies with all three again!

Oh Christmas Tree

We took the kids to a Christmas tree farm to pick out their own tree for their playroom! The boys were very proud, and picky! Johnathan liked to smell the trees, and Joseph wanted to run around all the trees! We finally decided on the tree to bring home. Decorating the tree did not maintain the boys interest, but Jayne Elizabeth was fascinated! We quickly decided that no fragile ornaments would go on their tree, but it is still beautiful to them!!

Decor by Jayne Elizabeth

Jayne Elizabeth, Mommy, and Daddy decorated the outside of the house for Christmas over the weekend while the boys took a nap! It looks great, but any ideas on how to string Christmas lights on the roofline of the peaks of a two story house....extension ladders are still not tall enough!?! We have the lights, need a way to hang them! Anthony did crawl out the second floor windows but the pitch was to much to scale the roof! ***gasp*** I know he shouldnt take those risks, but the kids ( and wife ) want lights! For now, Jayne Elizabeth's wreaths, bells, and garland will be perfect! She is sooo cute, and sooo almost one!
