Can you feel the love?

The boys had their Mother's Day Out Valentine's Day Party...and we wanted to be sure the kids looked festive! The boys brought goodies and cards to their friends, and brought home crafts that they made. I think the party went well, until Joseph bit a little boy's finger! Ugh..what do I do? To be honest, the little stinker has bit his brother and his Daddy! These boys stress a Mommy out! Are little brothers more "agressive" to each other? The boys play rough, and always get into what the other is doing. Is it a boy thing, a developmental phase, maybe a twin thing? Post a comment! The boys do adore each other, and are sleeping much better since we put them back in the same room! They are so cute but where is the love? ha!

Pink Alert, Pink Alert!

An Update on Jayne Elizabeth!! Jayne Elizabeth is doing great! She goes to bed about 10:30 each night at then wakes up to eat once, and up in the morning with her brothers about 6:30. This is great!! She breastfeeds well, and is a very happy little girl. She can entertain herself, and prefers to stretch out on the floor. This girl is not the swaddling type! No holding her down! She is learning to control her arms, so she is swinging them everywhere! She brings such joy to our lives, and her Daddy and I are so thankful for a little girl. She is precious, and a true angel!

Did I tell you that I love having a little girl??!! I do!! I can't get enough of the bows!

Uh-oh!!....Uh-Oh!

So this week has been eventful! There was a death in the family so Grandpa Holmes went back to Florida. Joseph has been sick and had a doctor's appointment this morning for his runny nose and cough. He is fine. However Grandma Holmes has stayed in Tennessee and has been here to help! So today when the tornado watch was in place, and the severe weather started I remained calm. But- when we were all in the surrounded glass window play room, and a large tree fell onto the patio furniture about 15 feet from the back door-- I began to not remain calm! We lost power, and Grandma Holmes immediately began to help me wrangle kids into the bathroom! The weather passed quickly, and we are all just fine! But we will get a weather radio tomorrow! Meanwhile the boys will continue to find the down tree fascinating, and I will here uh-oh a thousand times!

Playdate at the State Park

The weather outside is gorgeous!! Anthony is off this weekend so we have enjoyed every minute! We met Joe, Brody and Briggs at the state park to play. The kids had a great time! The boys burned off some much needed energy from being limited to inside due to snow last week. It was a great day at the park, and my heart was warmed to see two great Dads play with their kids.

The play gym was a hit with the boys! I think between the three boys they ran, hopped, walked, and fell down every inch of the equipment!

What a great Daddy! Joe brought the boys to the park! However Dana had to work the weekend. Briggs enjoyed his snack outside!

And don't forget about the babies! Briggs and Jayne Elizabeth enjoyed their time together too! It looks like this is a match made in heaven! Big brothers playing, while the babies were sleeping!

This cowboy's hat!

Oh, our sweet baby Joseph!! What can I say, he is full of life! Joseph has so much personality it is overflowing! Joseph LOVES his boots, and now he has become attached to cowboy hats! Uncle Clay and Grandpa Holmes often wear cowboy hats while on the farm, but today Joseph marched around in a cowboy hat! He was so proud of himself! The boys were also feeling like big stuff because Grandpa Holmes brought them back a luxury....french fries! It is rare, if ever, the boys get french fries from us. But we have learned that Grandparents do not always obey rules, and it is easier to allow the "luxuries" in life. Today the finer things in life were cowboy hats and french fries, boy farm life is good!

Police Academy

My brother, "The Hero in the Night." Uncle Clay graduated from the Police Academy this week. It was a humbling ceremony, and made me appreciate law enforcement so much more than I have before. Our family and friends enjoyed celebrating this new milestone with him, and look forward to his career as a police officer.

Next time a cop stops you because you are driving too fast,
Remember he saved you from that day being your last.
Next time you call him a name,
Would he have called you the same?
To break up a fight, knowing later it will be worse,
And from his help, all that came was him being cursed.
To know that people don’t respect what he chose to do,
But day after day, he’s out there to protect people like me and you.
The job has no glamour, doesn’t even pay well,
He does it because he cares for more than himself.
He cares for you and he cares for me,
He’s out there hoping we will all see.
He took a path not many would take,
And he chose it for our sake.
He’s a remarkable soul, a Hero in the Night,
When all is well, he’s not in sight.
But, if you ever need him, he’ll be right there,
Not just because he’s a cop but because he cares.

We are so proud of you Uncle Clay!

Since Anthony had the day off for my brother's graduation, we made a day of it! The boys stayed home and we were able to spend great time with Jayne Elizabeth! We took her for the first trip to the mall! Anthony stayed with her and read business finance books at the book store, and I made my way through the children's stores! We had a great day! I love my family.

Please remember to pray for our military and police. Now that my brother will be out on the streets, you can be assured that I will cover him in prayer daily. We should all pray for those men and women that sacrifice so much, so that we can be safe.

Super Bowl Sunday

We enjoyed having friends over to watch the Super Bowl, and I enjoyed all the food! The boys played and played, and Jayne Elizabeth slept. The pictures are the boys watching Mickey Mouse, not the Super Bowl. One day I am sure Anthony and the boys will be staring at the TV screen for hours watching football! But for now Mickey is their interest.......
