As the night falls

After Christmas day naps Granna, Papa, Uncle Clay, Aunt Justina, Samuel, Aunt Anne, and Uncle Richard came up to our house so the kids could show everyone their new toys and the adults could visit. It was a great end to a wonderful day!

Christmas morning breakfast

After watching the boys have their pancake party at school with a formal breakfast, I decided I wanted that to be incorporated into our family holiday too!We have decided to start a family tradition on Christmas morning. After the excitement and awe of "Santa" is over and the presents are opened we decided that we will have a formal breakfast in our dining room each year. It is a time to calm down, and reflect on the reason we have Christmas, and that is the birth of Jesus Christ. Anthony and I took our fine china and Waterford crystal from out of the hutch, and made a festive kid friendly breakfast for our family to enjoy! The kids loved the food, and we loved the crystal and china! It was neat to discuss our wedding gifts and "crystal and china" with the kids! A very special breakfast, discussing a very important person, Jesus Christ.  We look forward to this each year, and look forward to breakfast casseroles, homemade biscuits, and discussion about our Lord and Savior, because without HIM Christmas would not mean a thing. Merry CHRISTmas!

Thanks pinterest, great food!

Christmas morning 2012

Christmas 2012, what an exciting time of year with two five year olds, and one four year old!!!! We have planned ahead this year for the Christmas presents.  Jayne Elizabeth is most interested in anything pink and anything princess. She specifically asked Santa for a "princess castle." Santa listened!! The boys asked for "monster trucks with a remote control." Mommy and Daddy listened to that request. But Santa brought the boys bikes!!!! Anthony was on-call this Christmas holiday, and was out seeing an emergency Christmas Eve until 11:15, this made Ms Claus really nervous and very busy at home!!! Our neighbors the Chamberlins and dear friends the McKinneys have held the "North Pole" status for our family for weeks. Anthony made the late night trip to pickup the presents, and into the very early morning hours we worked on the set-up! Christmas morning was chaos, and filled with many laughs, squeals and giggles!
Happy Birthday, Jesus.

Christmas Eve at the farm

Our Christmas Eve tradition is to go to the farm to celebrate and have dinner. It has become a much anticipated night. This year did not disappoint. We discussed how significant the birth of Jesus is, and attempted to sing carols on the way to the farm! Upon arrival, the kids excitement increased ten fold! However now that the kids are getting older, Anthony and I do find ourselves less stressed., lol. Anthony is on-call this holiday, but a Christmas miracle is that he made it through dinner, fellowship and presents before getting called to the veterinary clinic. The Christmas dinner was delicious. Everyone contributed a side to the amazing prime rib that Uncle Clay and Papa prepared. Then Christmas presents, cookies, desserts, and playing completed the time at the farm. The night was still young for Mommy and Daddy......
A gorgeous tree, with many blessings below.

Granna received a hand painted present from our cousin Pat.
