To Sleep or not to sleep.....

As many of you know our precious little boys have given us much difficulty in the sleep department. We still have someone crying for extended periods every night, and they wake up at approx 5:30-6:00 AM, every morning! We have had them puke they cry so hard, and attempted every sleep method known to parenting! We co-slept until they were 6 months old, then transisted them to share a crib. We thought they weren't sleeping because of each other so then we put them in their own cribs in the same room. However this didnt achieve more sleep, so we moved them upstairs to their own rooms at 13 months! Now at 19 months we still arent sleeping well, so as a desparate last move, we moved them back into the same room in their individual cribs!! We will see the outcome!

The moving beds and changing bedrooms was a huge Saturday afternoon project. However we had plenty of hands trying to help, they were just little hands!

Joseph's Dug Out! This is his old room, with no crib! Now it has the big boy bed...I am glad we aren't to that phase yet! That will make me cry for sure!

The final product, after their nap....all pacifiers, blankets, bears, and pillows thrown in the middle on the floor. We watched this happen on video monitors! Johnathan fell asleep first, and Joseph called to him and made every farm animal sound possible trying to wake him up! It was so funny! One thing is for sure- they had a good time together in the same room!

Note: We welcome any potions, songs, dances, or sleep technique suggestions!! Just remember, we now have a newborn in the sleep situation!

Ok, Ok. Yes!! That is approx 6-8 pacifiers per baby that you see thrown in the floor! No excuses that they cant find a paci in their bed to sleep! ....we have tried everything!

Girl, we are only seven months in, and I'm feeling your pain. I keep trying to get the girls to sleep through the night. Last night, I was going to let Sadie cry it out...she cried for THREE hours. I thought she would wear out before that, but she kept going strong!!! I'll start praying that they start sleeping. :)

Don't feel bad! Dakoda uses 4-5 different paci's as well! And they all end up on the floor (along with all of his blankets/lovies) by the time nap is over, too. Too funny about Joseph trying to wake up his brother! I hope the new arrangement works better for you guys, and that you get some sleep!!

Oh, and I love Joseph's Dug Out! :)

I don't know you....complete blog stalker. I got here from Jillina's page. Your title caught my eye, and I had to check it out. We, too, have a daughter who isn't into sleep. For months she stayed up until 1 am, and we've finally gotten her back to 10 pm (at 12 months). She also just started sleeping in her own bed.....she cried forever until she puked, too. I have no advice--just wanted you to know I'm out here struggling, too. :) Here's to sleep for us......someday!

I'll call you on this one....:) ...but in a nutshell...they have always been in the same room, different cribs/beds and we started baby wise principals around 4/5/6 months...we have always been kind of "loose" with it, and enjoyed babying them when they were sick and rocking if they needed it (or I needed it), but then we would have to "retrain" their sleep schedule. I try 99.9% of the time for them to have their afternoon nap at home in their beds for like 2-3 hours. I have learned the hard way that not napping well leads to not sleeping well at night. A good nap for J&J means happy content boys going to bed around 8 and sleeping 10/11 hours ***sickness is an exception***
